Week 09 - Project 2C: Conceptual Product Photoshoot

LECTURE

The class was cancelled due to a public holiday, Sir Fauzi provided materials in the Google Classroom to ensure that we could progress on our work as we go through the week with yet another public holiday.

TUTORIAL

In Google Classroom, he also uploaded a demonstration video on creating Motion Imaging from start to finish to roughly show the entire process of making it. Making it easier for us to follow through with an example of the workflow for the coming Final Project.

PRACTICAL

This week, we are reaching the final week for Project 2 and I will document my home shooting for Project 2C: Conceptual Product Photoshoot.

Visual Research:

I went to Pinterest to source references for this photo manipulation project. The pictures attached are my top-3 references that are close to my very own idea. Almost every surrealist images online involve two images that are realistic and non-realistic combined into one as if those are the original item.

Photoshoot:

Due to the public holiday once again, some of us were not able to attend a session in the photo studio on campus due to clashing of classes. So, it is advisable by Sir Fauzi that we do a home photoshoot instead to not waste any more time.

The idea of my photoshoot is a surrealist item where the bouquet acts as a perfume topper. Making the original perfume with a hint of rose scent. If you require a different topper scent, simply change to another bouquet that gives a different floral hint to your liking.

My own object to be used in this shoot:

Shooting and Lighting Techniques:

This can be seen that I was trying to adapt my camera settings to the condition of my photoshoot area. Adjusting the ISO, White Balance, Shutter Speed and Aperture Settings was needed to ensure that the outcome of the shoot is as good as possible due to us not being able to go to the photo studio on campus because of the public holiday.
