REFLECTION

I have learnt so much from this module because this module taught me almost everything that I needed to know at a foundational level. Being someone who wasn't from the Arts Field before this, it was super informational and helpful for me to expand my knowledge even further. However, all of this also couldn't happen if it wasn't for my lecturer Miss Jinchi. She was super accommodating ever since Week 1 up to the very final week. Her determination to ensure that we understood every material and her patience are admirable. Even the way she handled us, students, is very organised and I appreciate that because sometimes without directions given, we could easily get distracted as busy students.

What I enjoy the most is the way this course is coordinated. It feels wholesome and well-planned. Every progressive week feels like you've mastered each topic and that is a sign that it's been successfully taught which I love. Now, to think about what I did not enjoy the most is a little hard because everything seems to be going well, maybe the fact that we had this module fully online is inevitable but also that is one thing that came to mind when I try to think about what I did not enjoy from this module.

My main concern is having to draw realistically and illustrate really well but to my surprise, art and design are not all about that. To me, in simple words, as long as your design has certain intended design principles it will be smooth sailing for you. This way of learning, it teaches students not to be discouraged but to first learn the basics that we needed to know before making any aesthetic judgements. I feel like my learning journey has improved too because I realised that this module interlinks with other modules as well. It feels nice to know that along the way I was able to notice design principles immediately when looking at any project regardless of its module.

I don't feel like this way of learning needs to be changed in the coming future because this has been an excellent journey for me. I couldn't be any luckier to have Miss Jinchi as my lecturer because she is really an educator and I hope to be having her as my lecturer for other modules in the future too.

Thank You Miss Jinchi.
