MLO 2: Project 1 - Instructable Poster (20%)
Instructions
One of our main objectives for this particular project is to enable us to process complex information into a simpler infographic poster. Being able to present a large amount of information in a compact and easy way to understand besides having it be aesthetically pleasing is also very much important.
After taking my time in the channel, I've decided to try one of my favourites, Pesto. This video and recipe by Maurizio Valle gave us an overview of how to make one of the authentic recipes of Pesto Paste for us to use with any pasta of our choice.
Breaking down the video is done by categorising it into, ingredients, methods of combining the ingredients together, the cookware used in the video and also the tips and tricks given directly by the chef himself.

After being provided with extra information, I begin to start creating my illustration assets (the ingredients and tools to make my Pesto paste) for my infographics provided attachments below are the work-in-progress pictures that I took along the way in creating my static instructable poster.

We were instructed to create a draft version for feedback from one of our lecturers to check if there was anything wrong or changes that needed to be made. I've decided to use an organic shape to create a sort of flow to the whole ingredients list with a reason in mind to control the direction of the viewer's eyes across the poster up to the bottom end. Personally, I think that it is a great way to show direction to viewers without having to use numbers or steps for direction.

Suggestions were given to me as part of my feedback session with my lecturer. He suggested that instead of making the background white, why don't I use beige colour and use it as the background colour instead. Next, a piece of advice on the usage of two fonts was much better rather than a single type of font for the whole poster which overwhelms the whole piece. Lastly, introducing background motifs will fill up the space intuitively and subtly which was great advice because I did plan on adding minor graphical elements or illustrations on the empty spaces all around to not make it too bare of a space.

After adhering to the recommendations, it does turn out how I imagined it to be with subtle elements behind the main assets. It also was a good decision to remove the white background colour as it is a distraction of negative spaces too if it takes too much of the paper's real estate.

After choosing our background music, we are required to prepare our Adobe Illustrator assets to be exported to Adobe After Effects and ensure that they are visible after being exported.

I've also decided to create a similar background motif for the video as that background throughout the duration of the video.
After countless hours of animating it and multiple rechecks for smaller details, I'm now satisfied with my own animation. The video attached below will be the full 60-second Motion Instructable Infographics for Project 1.
