Final Project: Visualism - Visual Culture

Final Project Timeline:

Figure 1.1 - Final Project's Timeline Overview

Part 1: Proposal

We were required to do a proposal with three different preliminary ideas on what we wanted our research project to centre on. Our lecturers decided that it's better if we go with our Washoku culture idea because it is something that we could expand further when we are in Japan for our data collection session.

Part 2: Field Study (Data Collection)

We've decided to have a meeting the week after we came back from our trip to gather all of our collected information and reorganise them accordingly so that we can see it with a better structure.
This is also considered as our last presentation slides to show our research topic in complete detail and our plans that would be linked to our final design outcome.

Part 3: Final Design Outcome

A number of inspirations from a bookmark with a QR code to having a zine that doubles as a food guidebook and also includes a comic section that shows the Washoku culture in a more fun and interesting way are our main design outcomes. To speed up our timeline of doing our tasks, we were separated into two groups. First, is the creative team and second, which will handle more on the technical information gathering side of the final design.

Aziera and I were tasked to create an infographic poster highlighting the purpose, aim and a glimpse of our final design outcome in this one-piece A1-sized poster. While some of them are involved in making the illustrations in our comic section in the magazine to further promote the Washoku culture.

We've also decided to do another fun stuff with our Final Design Outcome with printed mini bookmarks with a QR code at the back of the card that will lead you to the full food guide zine that will have recommended restaurants by the group and also to preview our illustrated comics to show you more in-depth of the Washoku culture.

*It is the same QR code as provided in the one-page A1 infographic poster.
